  You do not have to be a bartender to know the best vodka recipes, and now is your chance to showcase what you got! EFFENŽ Vodka is hosting a cocktail contest starting Thursday, October 9th at www.phoenixnewtimes.com/effen. New Times will be accepting submissions from October 9th to November 30th. On November 4th your friends, customers, or fans will be able to vote for you to compete in the EFFENŽ Vodka Cocktail Competition happening in December. The GRAND PRIZE is a $1,200 PRIZE PACKAGE (2 are available to win). Just by submitting your recipe here, you will be eligible.   Head over to the NE Corner of Rural and Rio Salado in Lot 59 before the ASU football game on October 25, 2008. New Times will be partying Sun Devil style with pong tournaments, bags games, and tons of giveaways. Dos Gringos will be supplying free food for those pre game munchies. Look for the New Times Subaru and Dos Gringos Hummer about 3 hrs before kick off. Wear your maroon and gold, and get ready for the ultimate tailgate. The duck roast is really a chicken roast, but we can pretend.

  Authentic Oktoberfest Celebration with Black Forest Mill
  
  Head to Black Forest Mill German Restaurant and Bar to experience the ultimate Octoberfest for 3 weekends straight. The event starts September 26th, 27th, and 28th and continues both the first and second weekend in Oktober. This rare German experience will be filled with Sausages, Haxen, and Good Sauerkraut, and features outdoor beer garden, pong tournament, and keg-carrying competition. Live entertainment will be provided by 12 bands including The Guggenbach Trio, who is actually from Germany.
  
  The best part is Black Forest Mill is making this Oktoberfest kid friendly with a Jumping Castle and other fun activities. For a list of events check out www.bfmrestaurant.com. The fun is from Fridays 4 PM - 2 AM, Saturdays 3PM - 2 AM, and Sundays 12 PM - 11 PM.
